Brash, entitled and sadistic rich kid Spike Trivet may be reviled by the Brighton fanbase, but it cannot be denied that he is a tremendously resourceful and opportunistic grappler.

The ‘King of Strong and Stable Style’ has rubbed the majority of the RIPTIDE roster up the wrong way, and has, albeit controversially, defeated the likes of Jonah Rock, Wild Boar and Candy Floss in singles competition.

However, it is his constant rivalry with the adored Jack Sexsmith that has come to define Trivet since the very first match in RIPTIDE history.

At ‘Beers Bands Wrestling’, Trivet was made to submit by the then-‘Pansexual Phenomenon’ via a crossface with a condom shoved in his mouth.

This humiliation led to a rematch at RIPTIDE Returns, where Trivet was again unable to defeat his foe, and resorted to being disqualified due to a low blow to escape the same fate.

Obsessed with overcoming Sexsmith, Trivet used his wealth over the course of a year to pay off Damon Moser and Chris Ridgeway, who both turned on Jack to form Money vs Everybody - a group with the mission of putting championship gold around Spike’s waist.

He also managed to bribe referee Shay Purser to make a bogus call which cost Sexsmith his title contention over Pride weekend.

With a broken Sexsmith seemingly in his rear view mirror, and Money vs Everybody running roughshod on the promotion, Trivet begun a hugely successful run that took him to the final of the Brighton Championship Tournament.

But when it looked like Chuck Mambo was about to fall victim, it was the returning Sexsmith who came to his dramatic rescue and cost Spike Trivet the Brighton Championship.

Lauded as one of the great rivalries in British wrestling, the war waged on for two years, before Sexsmith’s untimely retirement due to injury.

With his nemesis out of the way, the path to the Brighton Championship has perhaps never been clearer for Spike Trivet.
